What is the domain name?

A domain name is an address that is used on the Internet to locate a website, for example pjwebsites.com.au.

You will need a domain name to be able to access your website on the internet.

What if I already have a website domain name?

No problem! We’ll gladly transfer your existing domain name to your new website free of charge!

What is web hosting?

Website Hosting is data storage space.

Every website requires Website Hosting to store their website on to make it available via the World Wide Web.

What is a Content Management System (CMS)?

A CMS is software that allows publishing and modifying content of your website from a central interface.

No special software is required on your local PC, all that is needed to access the CMS is an internet connection and a username and password.

A CMS is integrated with the website at the time of building by us to enable you to make updates any time you like.

How much will a website cost?

There are quite a few factors that are going to affect the ultimate cost of your website.

These factors include how many pages you are going to have, if you will sell products on your website, the graphic work involved, and how interactive your website will be.

Our packages start at $749 for a starter site. You can see some standard price points on our Website Design page.

Are there any ongoing cost?

Domain name registration and website hosting are the only ongoing costs.

We are happy to discuss your requirements and have managed hosting plans to help even further.

How long it will take for my website to be designed?

The timescale of a website design project is often dictated by the client.

If you have a deadline we will endeavour to meet it for you.

The most common delay in the creation and completion of a new website is waiting for content (text/images).

If you are thinking about getting a website it is a good idea to have all your text and images ready to go – this will speed up the process significantly.

Who creates the content?

No one knows the business better than the person running it, so we leave all text and photos to the client to provide.

However, we have made over 300 websites so can offer some handy tips on content creation, which will save you time and make things much easier.

We have professional photographers and copywriters in our team if required.

Can you re-design an existing website?

Absolutely! If you have an existing website that looks a bit tired or needs a complete overhaul we can help.

How do I update my website?

We provide every client with an online Content Management System (CMS) where you can update individual products/pages/services or particular sections of your website. e.g. company news.

We use the popular content management system WordPress.

If you have a small website consisting of just a few pages and will only wish to make changes very infrequently, then it may be  more cost effective to have us carry out these changes for you.

Our Managed Hosting plans include monthly time allocated just for updates.

Why can't I find my new website in the search engine?

Once your site has been submitted to the top Search Engines they may require several weeks, or even months to actually crrawl and list your website in their directory.

How fast your site is listed depends on each individual Search Engines database update schedule. We submit each website we create to all the major search engines, which significantly reduces the time it takes before your website starts to appear in searches.

Who owns the intellectual property of my website?

The content of the website is your intellectual property. Any code, images or graphics created by PJ Websites remain the intellectual property of PJ Websites, but are yours to use as you like.

We include that the website was created by PJ Websites with a link to our website at the bottom of each page.

No code or images created by PJ Websites can be sold or passed onto others without our express written consent.

Do you only create WordPress websites?

Not exactly, WordPress is a great content management system that now powers more than 30% of the web. Its huge market share is due to it’s flexibility and ease of use.

We teach you how to manage it and help you along the way.

While we highly recommend WordPress, we do to use other technologies on some projects as requested by clients.

Do I have to be local to work with you?

No! We work with clients all over the world. Our whole team works remotely, we always have, and always will.

Even before lockdown!

Will I be able to update the site myself when it’s finished?

Yes! We love it when our clients take control of their website and learn to manage it on their own. We’ll provide you with a training session to help get you on your way.

We have a comprehensive client portal that includes tutorials, and of course, we love to answer your questions!

I’m on a strict budget. Do you have any low cost options?

The remaining 70% is due upon completion before your website goes live.

We have a variety of payment options available including all major credit cards, PayID & bank transfer.

How much input do I have in the process?

Your input and feedback is crucial to this process. We’ll start with a lot of questions about your needs, your likes, your wants and work with you to develop just the right look and functionality.
